Blitz Football®: Online

  1. Gameplay. You play online on a virtual football field versus another player—either a human opponent (P2P) or an AI bot Smart Bot* (P2B). The attacking player dribbles the ball from the center of the field and shoots toward the goal defended by the other player from varying distances, but not closer than the 11-meter mark. After each attack, the players switch roles, taking turns attacking and defending as long as they have enough Attack Energy.

  2. Attack Energy. At start of the match, each player receives a minimum** of 60☆ Attack Energy and spends it in different types of attacks:

  • 6☆ in a super-long-range attack on 2 goal zones,
  • 8☆ in a long-range attack on 3 goal zones,
  • 9☆ in a mid-range attack on 4 goal zones,
  • 10☆ in a close-range attack on 5 goal zones.
  1. Attacking and Defending Goals Players alternate in attacking and defending the goal. In a P2B game, the human player attacks first, while in a P2P game, the first attacker is the one with a higher rank (when applicable) or is chosen by a crypto coin toss***. Then, the goal attacking and defending goes as follows:
  • the attacker selects an attack type, and the attack energy cost is deducted from their Attack Energy
  • the defender receives the chosen attack type, selects one of the goal’s defense zones, and sends a Cipher with their chosen defense zone encrypted using a unique key
  • the attacker selects an attack zone and sends back a Cipher with their chosen attack zone encrypted using a unique key
  • both parties exchange the selected attack and defense zones in plaintext, followed by an animated sequence showing the attack and defense outcome—a “goal scored” if the zones do not match or “goal not scored” if they do.
  1. Fairplay Crypto Guarantee If an attack or defense is unsuccessful, the player receives the opponent’s Secret Code containing the key and defense/attack zone chosen. By clicking VERIFY DEFENSE / ATTACK, the Secret Code and Cipher are sent to a public encryption verification site where the player can confirm that the Cipher they received is the result of encryption of only the specified Secret Code, ensuring that the chosen zone was not altered during the attack.

  2. Match Structure and Attack Energy A game can consist of one or more matches. A match is divided into 2 halves. In the first half, players each take turns performing 5 attacks and defenses. In the second half, attacks and defenses continue as long as both opponents have energy for a new attack. The match ends when both opponents do not have enough energy for a new attack. In a game of several matches, the player’s remaining energy from the previous match is added to the starting energy of the next match. At the end of the game, the player’s remaining attack energy in that game is completely burned out.

  3. Match Results The primary outcome of the match is its score – the number of goals each player scored. Each player’s performance is also measured based on: – Scored Attack Energy ☆G – the energy spent on successful goal attacks; – Pure Attack / Defense Time – the time from pressing the PLAY button to pressing ATTACK/DEFEND to select the goal zone; – Pure Game Time (PGT) – the combined Pure Attack and Defense Time; – Overall Game Time (OGT) – the full time spent in the game, including PGT, Fairplay Crypto Guarantee checks, match history views, etc.; and PGT are used for ranking players in P2B games and as tiebreakers in playoff games that end in a draw: the one with less ☆G (first) and less PGT (second) wins.

  4. Time Limits Pure Attack/Defense Time must not exceed 50". If it does, the attack is automatically considered a miss or a shot into an empty goal. OGT must not exceed the game time limit. If it does, victory is awarded to the opponent.

  5. Scoreboard and Match History During a match, the scoreboard displays the current score, available energy, ☆G, PGT, while the remaining OGT is shown in the upper corners of the scoreboard. At the end of the match, the MATCH HISTORY button leads to a screen showing all attack and defense zones, score changes, match start and end times, players’ ☆G and PGT. One can also select an attack/defense zone to verify its Fairplay Crypto Guarantee.

  • The Smart Bot builds and refines a statistical model of a typical player, using it to play with a new player and in subsequent games with the same player adapts it into a model of this player.

** In a multi-match game, any energy remaining from the current match is added to the initial energy of the next match. In tournaments, a premium energy may be added to initial energy of a title-holder, according to the rules.

*** Crypto Coin – an animated coin with different colored faces and alternating numbers 1 and 2 on each side. Each player receives a face color assigned by the server. One player selects a color of the landing face, while the other selects the number on it. Players’ choices are encrypted, and their Ciphers are shared. Once the coin lands, the color and number on the landing face determine the first and second attackers. The players receive encryption keys to verify the Fairplay Crypto Guarantee of the opponent’s selection.
